What is a wrinkle removal?
This is a procedure to reduce deep wrinkles in the face that develop in old age because of a reduction in tissue.

What happens in an initial consultation and how does wrinkle removal work?
The patient learns about the various options and fillers available. We recommend a fat transplant. Autologous fat is put in a centrifuge at 3000 rpm and cleaned with blood and salt particles. The liquid fat is removed. The purified fat cells are then injected underneath the wrinkle using a special cannula restoring the original volume of tissue. The results are never 100% effective as claimed by fellow specialists. Only 30-40% of the fat remains at best regardless of technique. The results of fat transfer do not last forever.
Hyaluronic acid injections are the second option. Restylane is an especially good manufacturer of such products as they provide various sizes and particle types for subcutaneous use that can be used in the deeper layers. Hyaluronic acid is reabsorbable and is 80-90% reabsorbed after a half year.

Who is a good candidate for wrinkle removal?
This is an option for patients who would like to remove extensive wrinkling.
Back
Should direct sunlight be avoided after the procedure?
Sunlight can cause the results to deteriorate.
Back
Are only chemicals used for wrinkle injections?
Autologous fat can be used for the injections as an alternative to chemicals.
Back
Are these substances harmful for the body?
No, the substances we use are not harmful to the body.
However silicone filler is harmful to the body. It would be a blunder on the part of fellow specialists to use this material. It can lead to encapsulation or infection even up to 2-4 years later. In this case it takes an incision to remove and even then not all material may be removed. It is for this reason that we only use brands proven and researched throughout the world and for which there is plenty of research and statistical support. We use hyaluronic acid for our injections.
Back
Is wrinkle removal always possible?
Wrinkle removal is generally available for anyone who would like to get rid of their wrinkles, but it depends of course on the patient's individual situation.
Back
Is there any pain during or after the procedure?
The only pain present in the procedure is the prick of the needle needed for the injection.
The upper and lower lips are numbed from inside the mouth so that the entire area surrounding the lips is numbed without changing the volume of the lips.
Back
Does an inpatient stay have to be scheduled?
Normally an inpatient stay is not necessary and the patient can go home directly after the treatment. The lips must be kept on ice.
Back
How long after the procedure can I get back to daily life?
The patient is usually fit and ready to get back to life directly after the treatment but this can sometimes take up to five days.
Back
How long do results last?
A hyaluronic acid treatment lasts 6-10 months. A fat injection lasts longer, normally about 1-2 years.
Back
Are multiple treatments necessary?
A second injection is sometimes necessary 4-6 weeks later.
Back
Are results visible immediately?
The results are visible immediately.
Back
What precautions should be taken after the operation?
The area should be iced after the treatment to prevent bleeding under the skin.
Back
Is there special skin care necessary after such a procedure?
In principle not much care is necessary. A gentle massage of the area is recommended. The important thing is that the injected material be properly distributed.
Back
Will there be any visible scarring?
There is no visible scarring because the treatment is done using a cannula.
Back
Are there any risks or side effects?
