Mons Pubis Liposuction

Function of the Mons Pubis
The mons pubis (suprapubic area) is the elevated region above the labia and is usually partially or entirely covered by pubic hair. It is composed of fat tissue that forms during puberty. It serves as cushioning protection. Its size depends on the individual and her genetics and may be visible when wearing tight clothing. It size can increase during menopause or with weightgain. As a result some women would like to reduce their mons pubis to a more appealing size.

Mons Pubis Liposuction
The simplest and least risky method to give the mons pubis a more appealing appearance is to remove excess fat tissue through liposuction.

The Operation
The following is a short description of the procedure for reducing the mons pubis. For more information please feel free to contact our help center for a discreet and helpful information.

Before the Operation
The area should be completely shaven before the operation. A special fitted compression underwear is to be worn after the operation. No blood thinning agents such as aspirin are to be taken within the week prior to the operation.

During the Operation
A special solution is first inject into the region to prepare the fat cells for liposuction. Two 2mm long incisions are made where the cannula for the liposuction are to be inserted. If there is an excess of skin after liposuction for which the compression cannot compensate, it can be removed by cutting some skin from the region just above the labia. Once the procedure is complete, the incisions are stitched closed using soluble stitches.

After the Operation
Compression underwear is used for four to six weeks after the operation to ensure even shrinkage of the excess skin. This is a little longer than an ordinary liposuction.

Possible Complications
Mons Pubis Liposuction is an operation and as with most any kind of operation, tissue may swell but swelling will subside after a few days. Sometimes bleeding or inflammation can result but such cases are rare.
