Labia Majora Augmentation

Some women have a small labia majora either naturally or as a result of age. As a result the labia minora visibly protrude which is not as aesthetically pleasing. An autologous fat transfer can be used to make the labia majora proportional.

The Operation
The following is a short description of a labia majora augmentation. For more information please feel free to contact our help center for a discreet and helpful information.

Before the Operation
The augmentation of the labia major is a matter of a fat transfer. Some fat is removed from the inner thighs, abdomen, or buttocks using liposuction. The fat is then modified and then frozen. The augmentation is therefore linked to a liposuction operation but this is not a prerequisite.

The procedure is usually done under general anesthesia but can be done under local anesthesia if the patient so desires. Neither special preparation nor an inpatient stay are necessary. If general anesthesia is to be used, the patient must fast before the procedure. No blood thinning agents such as aspirin are to be taken within the week prior to the operation.

During the Operation
Labia Major augmentation is achieved by injecting the previously obtained and prepared fat. Multiple injections are necessary because 20 to 30 percent of the injected fat is naturally broken down by the body. The transfer itself only takes a few minutes.

After the Operation
No aftertreatment is necessary.

Possible Complications
There is a small risk of infection or secondary bleeding related to the liposection involved.

An injection of one's own fat (fat transfer) is followed by symptoms such as light, temporary irritation similar to infection. Sensitivity is not affected.

Costs
Costs for an outpatient labia majora augmentation depend mainly on the extent of the liposuction involved. An offer is made after a individual no obligation consultation.
